Resting in Christ

Outstanding! Almost tears b/c you are right to say this is never taught from the pulpit. I had to learn it from a wonderful older woman who discipled me when I was a new Christian...about 40 then. Changed my LIFE! Oh, the joy! Just as simple as taking God at His word. Set Free! Confidence in His work being 'good enough'. No doubt concerning salvation...no wavering (or as my mentor put it "roller-coastering"). Desire not to sin.

But believing this is also dangerous. Others will call you proud. Others will accuse you of being self-righteous. They think you are judging them. I experienced this and it was HARD! It's hard to be misunderstood and to be set apart for Christ. Hence, you don't play the "church" games, which further confuses people. My mentor experienced this herself. But those who truly want to know will draw near. I did, and my life was never the same. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. "The old has passed away (died) behold, the new has come" (2 Cor 5:17). Peter says we are partakers of the divine nature! (2 Peter 1:4). This is the essence of entering into His rest.
